Quite the slick introduction. Great interview. Unfortunate that you have to state the obvious: that just because you're criticizing Chomsky about one issue doesn't mean you're discounting everything else he has taught us. Mick, you're right about we want, we're willing to be proven wrong. I had no hopes for Obama in '08 or '12. That Nader spoke out forcefully about the bloated Pentagon budget, and that Obama mentioned it not at all, was contrast enough for me. Besides, skepticism is always warranted. But I was willing to be proved wrong. Unfortunately, Obama is in many ways - his drone warfare campaign and Tuesday morning kill lists and his failing to facilitate peace talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians for just two - worse than his predecessor. Don't feel bad about your writing being criticized as lacking nuance Mickey. Nuance was one of the words sent to the guillotine by Alexander Cockburn in his eponymous parting broadside. Quite the slickly produced outro too.
