The Return of the Angry Demo-lib by Cindy Sheehan

Me in Martha's Vineyard Protesting at Obama's First Vacation in 2009 (practically alone)

I was truly stunned on (S)Election Day 2016 because I was certain that Hillary Clinton had been anointed by the ruling class to be the next CEO of Empire and the First Woman President™.

Without much training (but boatloads of experience), I am a practically a political savant and am rarely wrong about such things, and Trump's "victory" did surprise me. What did not surprise me, however, was the Demo-lib's angry reaction to it.

The day before the "Cataclysm of the Century™" I wrote as a status update on Facebook: "My election prediction: If Trump wins, then the Democrat faithful will finally remember how to hold a president's feet to the fire."

If you were on the outside looking in in 2008 (not jitter-bugging on the discordant Obama bandwagon), then you will know what I am talking about. Over and over and over and over again, I was told by those that are Olympic level Bandwagon Jumpers that we just needed to get Obama in office then we would "hold his feet to the fire." Well, with just a cursory review of the past eight years: every country decimated, every person killed, every cop exonerated, every pipeline built, every whistleblower punished, every Wall Street bank bailed out, every immigrant worker deported, every homeless person, and everyone who still has no health coverage, etc: THERE WAS NO FIRE HOLDING WITH RESPECT TO OBAMA'S FEET.

(Read this about the Obama's immoral and unconscionable destruction of Yemen:

Yemen Sees U.S. Strikes as Evidence of Hidden Hand Behind Saudi Air War)

True, there were isolated pockets of protest and Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter could really have made some headway against Empire, but if there were a couple of thousand of people at a protest in WashedUp, DeCeit against any of the half a dozen wars of Empire that Obama is waging, we were lucky. The last one I organized in DeCeit in 2015 had about 250 people.

Not only are the Demo-libs out in force and have been since November 8th, they are holding Trump's "feet to the fire" and demanding impeachment even before he is President. All this despite the urging of Obama and Clinton to forget all the nasty things they said about Trump recently and to "come together" for the "sake of America."

I think that every president has committed impeachable offenses and would be on board for an "Impeach Obama" movement as I was for an "Impeach Bush/Cheney" movement, and will be for an "Impeach Trump" energy, but all of the protests lately only prove my at least 10 year contention (since the Dems regained control of the House in 2006), that the protests against Bush and his wars were not principled, but only "anti-Bush."

I also wrote this on Facebook on the day after Cataclysm of the Century™ Day:
So, we who didn't vote for Clinton were feeling our "privilege" because we have "nothing to fear" from a Trump regime? So does that mean that the people who voted for Clinton are exhibiting their American Privilege...most of the millions of people who have been murdered, wounded, or made refugees by Clinton's support for wars, wars, and more wars are not Anglo-Saxon Protestants. Did you feel comfortable in your American Privilege that you had "nothing to fear" from a Clinton Regime? I voted against Clinton for those people and I was thrilled to vote for a Latina (Gloria La Riva) and someone I know who has been in the trenches with me all along.
I understand the anger over Trump's election, but the same people would not be out in force if the war criminal Clinton had won, and that's a pity, because she was a terrible candidate and was no prize, herself.

I remember being furious when Bush seemingly prevailed over the terrible candidate and terrible person, John Kerry in 2004. But I equated votes for Bush as votes in support of the war that killed my son just seven months earlier, and I think I was partially correct. People who voted for Clinton last week, for the most part, refused to honestly examine the fact that almost every famous neocon supported her and that her foreign policy experience was as evil as the men who went before her.

I am not happy that Trump will be crowned as the New Emperor, but I am also not sad that Clinton lost. However, will this fact now leverage into Demo-libs spending a lot of money opposing Trump's inevitable wars (or not ending Obama's) and their sudden recall of how to paint clever protest signs and the way to the nearest march?

I also think it's important to remember that ALL U.S. presidential elections are not about D vs. R, but about Them vs. Us. It's about divide and conquer and the fervent hope that the so-called rulers can keep the workers fighting each other and not noticing how they are killing our planet and robbing the future blind.

Both Trump and Clinton were representatives of the elite class, only Trump's campaign was able to capitalize on the issues that Occupy Wall Street brought to the fore and which the campaign of Sanders also opportunistically jumped on. Clinton stubbornly remained in her comfortable elitist enclave with the arrogance of inbred royalty and refused to acknowledge the deep fear and dismay of the working-class in this country. No matter who or what she or the Demo-libs want to blame, it was her festering ambition that cost her the election.

Look, we USAians must be a hellishly tough lot: we've already survived 44 presidents, I have a feeling we will also survive this one. However, you all have to stop thinking that 330 million people are the goddamned center of the known universe. We share this planet with 7 billion others and use over 1/4 of its resources and maintain almost 1k military bases across the globe.

We need some kind of identification as being connected with everyone and everything--or nothing will change for the better.

Venezuela's Revolution & Western Media Lies & Deceptions by Allison Bodine (Guest blog)

The dangerous media campaign based on lies and deceptions about what is occurring in Venezuela today has grown at the same time that the United States and their allies have increased their meddling in the internal affairs of Venezuela. In turn, the violent and counter-revolutionary opposition in Venezuela has also amplified their attempts to overthrow the government of President Nicolas Maduro and with it the gains made by the people of Venezuela over the last 17 years of the Bolivarian Revolution.

Why Working and Oppressed People Must Support President Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution

Venezuela is a country with a population of 30 million people, located in the Northern section of the continent of South America. Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela is 3,300km away from Washington, DC, so why is it that Venezuela is so important to the United States and mainstream media?

In 1998 the people of Venezuela elected Hugo Chávez as President, marking the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution that since then has struggled to overturn centuries of injustice and inequality faced by a majority of Venezuelans. With this victory, the government of Venezuela and the Bolivarian revolution began to make changes that fundamentally improved the lives for millions of poor, working and oppressed people in Venezuela. Poverty decreased dramatically, illiteracy was eradicated, and millions of Venezuelans saw a doctor for the first time, among other great gains for the people of Venezuela. For the first time in Venezuelan history, the government put the interests of people before those of profit.

President Hugo Chávez passed away in 2013, however the Bolivarian revolution continues led by government of President Nicolás Maduro, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the tens of thousands of communes, grassroots organizations and civil society groups that carry the gains of the revolution forward. Despite a dramatic drop in the price of oil, Venezuela’s main export, as well as attempts by the counter-revolutionary opposition to destabilize Venezuela through violence and an economic war, the Bolivarian revolution has continued to make tremendous gains for people, both in Venezuela and across Latin America.

Many of the gains of the Bolivarian revolution have come as a result of Social Missions in Venezuela. For example, the social mission for community health, known as Barrio Adentro has brought primary healthcare to the most vulnerable people of Venezuela, many of whom had never once in their lives seen a doctor. Through this mission, Cuban and Venezuelan doctors continue to give free doctors visits, completing over 700 million consultations as of 2015.

In October of 2016, Venezuela marked 11 years as a territory free of illiteracy as declared by the United Nations mission UNESCO. Through the literacy missions more than 2.7 million Venezuelans have been taught to read, including almost 70,000 indigenous peoples who learned to read not only in Spanish, but also in their native languages.

The Bolivarian Revolution has also committed to providing dignified housing for people in Venezuela through the Great Housing Mission which began in 2011. Since then, over 1.2million homes have been constructed and provided to low income Venezuelans.

Venezuela has been recognized for their achievements by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In 2015, the FAO announced that Venezuela had reduced malnutrition 50%, following their announcement in 2013 that extreme hunger and poverty in Venezuela had also been reduced by 50%, all major milestones in the UN’s Millennium Development Goals.

The Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA), which was founded under the leadership of Hugo Chávez, also continues to be an institution to facilitate Latin American solidarity and cooperation. For example, through ALBA over 3 million people in Latin America have had their eyesight restored for free, as ALBA allows for trade between countries through goods and services, as well as through monetary exchange.

In October, further announcements have also been made about the formation The Bank of the South. This new bank will begin with a budget provided by the governments of Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela and will work to end the cycle of debt that has been imposed on poor countries in Latin America for decades.

Venezuela’s Violent Counter-revolutionary Opposition

When President Hugo Chávez passed away in 2013, the US government, and the violent and counter-revolutionary opposition that they support, saw an opportunity to increase their efforts to destabilize Venezuela and overturn the gains of the Bolivarian Revolution. In December, 2015 the opposition, organized into a coalition called the MUD won a majority in the Parliamentary elections in Venezuela. Since then, they have increased their efforts to bring about a counter-revolution. Although mainstream Western media paints a pretty picture of the Venezuelan opposition, in reality, the opposition in Venezuela is anything but a peaceful movement for “democracy” and “freedom.”

In fact, the counter-revolutionary opposition in Venezuela is no stranger to using violence in order to try and achieve their goals in Venezuela. Their methods range from a coup against President Chavez in 2002 (which was overturned by the mass action of people in Venezuela in less than 48 hours), to violent street riots known as the “Guarimbas” that killed 43 people in 2014.

The opposition in Venezuela has also strengthened their economic war against the people of Venezuela. The capitalist class in Venezuela, whose interests are represented in the counter-revolutionary opposition, continues to control a majority of the Venezuelan economy, including the distribution and production of food and basic goods. As reported in Volume 10, Issue 8 of Fire This Time, “As researched by Pasqualina Curcio, a Venezuelan economist and professor at Simón Bolívar University, ‘Both the production and distribution of the 10 most difficult foods to purchase, for which there are long queues (corn flour, rice, pasta, milk, oil, margarine, coffee, chicken, beef and chicken eggs) are concentrated in no more than 10 large private companies’ www.foodfirst.org.”

As well, reports continue to surface that expose hoarding and sabotage by privately owned Venezuelan and multi-national companies. On October 27, the Venezuelan news site La Tabla reported that Venezuela’s largest private producer of basic goods, Polar, reduced its overall production by 30% between July, 2016 and today. The counter -revolutionary capitalist class in Venezuela is manipulating the supply of basic necessities to the people of Venezuela in a violent attempt to starve the people of Venezuela into overthrowing the government.

There is another important deception that mainstream Western media is carrying on about Venezuela, the lie that the current government of Venezuela is somehow undemocratic and in violation of Venezuela’s constitution. This claim has been repeated over and over especially as the attempt of the opposition to launch a recall referendum against President Maduro has now been put on hold. However, the reason that the recall referendum was suspended by the National Electoral Council on October 21 is clear and well-within the constitution of Venezuela, a fact that is never mentioned in the media. The opposition simply did not collect enough signatures to proceed after it was found that 30% of the nearly 2 million signatures collected had irregularities. This included, for example, 11,000 signatures from deceased people.

‎President Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution Confront the Opposition

“People here have a need to work and produce and we will not allow a Yankee model of destabilization to install itself here in Venezuela” – President Nicloas Maduro, October 26, 2016

On Wednesday, October 26, President Nicolas Maduro announced that the government of Venezuela would be taking further steps to nationalize idle factories in Venezuela that are found to be complicit in economic sabotage.

This is just one of the many initiatives taken by the government of the Bolivarian Revolution in order to combat the economic war and violence of the counter-revolutionary opposition; steps that mainstream Western media has largely ignored. Other important measures include the raising of the minimum wage by 40%, as well as the introduction of new methods for the distribution of basic goods to communities across Venezuela, known as CLAPs (Local Production and Provisioning Committees).

The government of Venezuela’s commitment to continue improving the lives of the majority of people in Venezuela can also be seen in the recent 2017 budget. 73% of the total state budget will be allocated to Venezuela’s Social Missions, public works and neighborhood organizations known as communal councils, with much of the budget funded through tax increases to the wealthy.

Not only does major media not report at all on the steps taken by the government of Venezuela to fight back against the economic crisis and scarcity, they have also been relentless in their claims that Venezuela is facing a “humanitarian crisis.” This claim was refuted outright by executive secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena in a recent interview with the news agency Sputnik in which she said, “The country is not in a humanitarian crisis, definitely not, we must be clear. There is a shortage of certain products and political tension, but Venezuela still has many elements to be a vibrant country.”

US Hands Off Venezuela!

On October 24, 2016, the Washington Post wrote yet another editorial calling for foreign intervention in Venezuela stating “The regime won’t change course unless it comes under far greater pressure, from the streets or from external sanctions. If it wishes to head off still greater turmoil in Venezuela, the United States should be coordinating tough international action.”

As if what the US government is doing already isn’t enough intervention. From trips to US Congress by leading members of the opposition, to e-mails from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton showing US spying on Venezuelan state-owned companies, the fingerprints of the US government are all over the counter-revolutionary actions of the opposition. Through funding by US groups like the Agency for International Development (USAid), a paper trail is there too.

On top of this political and financial support for counter-revolution in Venezuela, the US government has also declared, in 2015 and again in 2016, that Venezuela “an unusual and extraordinary threat to US national security,” and imposed economic sanctions. These measures have hampered Venezuela’s ability to work with international and US financial institutions, greatly deepening the impact of the severe drop in oil prices on Venezuela’s economy.

Venezuela Needs Our Solidarity Now More Than Ever

Today President Nicolás Maduro, the PSUV, and all of the forces that make up the Bolivarian Revolution are facing some of their biggest challenges yet. Although there is still much that can be done to bring full justice and equality to the majority of people in Venezuela, through mass organization and mobilization the Bolivarian Revolution continues to advance in the struggle for a better Venezuela and a better world. As the people of Venezuela continue to build their revolution, the most important thing that people living in imperialist countries can do is to get the pressure of US intervention and meddling off of their backs.

The struggle between revolution and counter-revolution in Venezuela has taken many forms. From an economic war to violent street demonstrations, to the latest attempt of the opposition in the National Assembly to declare the President of Venezuela unfit to rule, it is clear that the solidarity of people around the world that support the Bolivarian Revolution is needed now more than ever.

Dear Protesters by Anthony Freda

To the protestors: My friends and I missed you when we were protesting the bombing of hospitals and illegal wars. We missed you at Occupy Peace and the other anti-war rallies we attended and helped organize over the last 8 years.I have not seen you working to expose the destruction of our civil liberties or the illegal spying on citizens that Obama promised to stop.

I doubt very much that you have donated to or volunteered to work for anti-war and pro-liberty groups who are fighting to stop senseless wars before they start and restore our basic freedoms. (Like I have)

It's been lonely out there.

I Used to be a Left Wing Liberal guest blog by Jeffrey Rock

I Used to be a Left Wing Liberal
Guest Blog
Jeffrey Rock*

When I was in college I was a left wing liberal.  I have not changed my political and economic viewpoints one iota but I am no longer a liberal today.  How could that be?  If I am no longer a liberal it must be because I have changed into a right winger or a conservative or something, right?  Not so fast.  When I was a liberal:

Liberals were avid anti-war and pro-peace and they expressed those sentiments with marches and protests in the street and on college campuses across the US

Liberals were against all forms of nuclear weapons proliferation

Liberals were opposed to interfering in the  affairs of sovereign nations whether they agreed with the US or not

Liberals supported working class people and the unions that made a decent middle class life possible for millions of Americans

Liberals supported progressive taxation that more evenly spread the burden of the cost of government across all income levels

Liberals supported public education

Liberals supported Social Security

Liberal opposed oligarchies and monopolies

Liberals embraced the Bill of Rights

Liberals supported free speech

Liberals opposed invasion of privacy

Liberals supported equal rights for everyone no matter in which nation they lived

Liberals supported community policing and opposed militarized police tactics

Liberals supported habeas corpus

Liberals promoted non-violence

Liberals fought for women’s rights

Liberals valued the environment and fought hard to protect it.

Then something changed, slowly at first and almost imperceptible.

Over time it progressed until today not one of the values listed above remains part of any liberal platform, policy or program.  The only support for any of these concepts is in lip service and then only enough to be elected or re-elected, after which those words turn into meaningless broken campaign promises.

Obama started more wars than any President in the history of the US.  Obama also re-kindled the Cold War with Russia.  When Russia refused to cave-in to the will of Washington the Obama regime determined that nuclear war is a viable option, something liberals never previously supported.  Under Obama the military has reversed its non-nuclear proliferation policies and has begun producing planet destroying nuclear bombs.  Obama’s advisors have convinced him that a limited nuclear war is acceptable.  To be liberal today means to support all wars, even thermo-nuclear.  Clinton surrounds herself with advisors who not only promote nuclear proliferation but who are headed for nuclear war with Russia.  Not one Democrat or liberal has uttered a peep in protest, let alone conducted street protests or marches.  Cindy Sheehan is alone in anti-war protesting.

Liberals today strongly support interference in the internal affairs of sovereign foreign nations. They hire mercenary proxy armies to de-stabilize governments that do not acquiesce and submit to Washington’s rule.  When that does not achieve their imperial goals they bomb small weak nations into submission or annihilation.  Hillary Clinton has been directly or indirectly involved in the overthrow of freely elected sovereign nations including Honduras, Ukraine and Syria.  She also led the overthrow of Libya and left it in the hands of barbarous criminals.

Liberals have abandoned labor unions and worker’s rights resulting in massive loss of jobs and lower wages and income for almost all middle class citizenry.  Beginning with Bill Clinton’s signing of NAFTA only days after assuming office, to the many subsequent free trade deals liberals have made, US workers lost about 25,000,000 jobs.  Bill Clinton convinced liberals to support these deals because he promised they would improve the lives of American workers and create hundreds of thousands of jobs.  He knew full well, however, that this logic was flawed and that jobs would be permanently exported as a result of his trade agreements and economic policies.  But he was personally enriched by those who benefitted the most.  The Clintons have made a fortune by doing the right wing oligarchs bidding.  The have amassed a couple hundred million in personal wealth since he left office and have stashed about $1.6 billion in a so-called charitable fund.  That fund pays for his and Hillary’s planes, expenses and who knows what else.  But Americans of all races have been the biggest losers as a result of Clinton’s policies.  About 50,000 manufacturing plants were moved from the US to Asia as a result of his trade deals.  Liberals are 100% responsible for this massive job loss.  The unions have been all but destroyed as a result.  Today liberals praise Clinton as one of the best Presidents for our economy in history.

The tax policies pursued and implemented by the liberals are the most right wing corporate oligarch policies possible.  In fact, it is not possible to enact more corporate friendly tax policies than the Democratic liberals have.  Products made with foreign cheap labor paid $2 per day, flood the US market with cheap goods at the cost of US jobs.  Liberals sold out works and the middle class and have put all their eggs in the basket of large international corporations.  It has been called it ‘neo-liberal,’ or ‘new’ liberal economic theory.  We all know the theory was bankrupt and this one bankrupted American’s middle class.  These jobs will NEVER come home and the middle class will NEVER regain its income level or status.  According to the Allianz’s Global Wealth Report the US has the largest income disparity of the 55 nations it studied in its 2014 report.  Also according to the CIA World Factbook, the United States has family income distribution Gini Index score of 45.0, which makes the United States rank thirty-ninth out of one hundred and thirty four countries in that category. Namibia ranks worst, with a Gini index score of 70.7. Previously, the United States ranked forty-third in this category, one step above Nigeria.

Liberals no longer support free education except with meaningless slogans but no real action.  Why should they when most liberals are in the upper class and send their kids to private schools and colleges?

Liberals want to do away with Social Security by privatizing it.  Liberals have robbed the US coffers of all Social Security funds and put in their place a bunch of IOU’s that are basically worthless.  One day soon it will be reported that Social Security is bankrupt and will be abolished as an antiquated and unnecessary program.  For all those people who contributed for a life time, they will get squat.  And the liberals will blame it all on working class Americans who they have sold out lock-stock- and-barrel.

Liberals no longer oppose big corporations, they love them.  Liberals stand up for the rights of oligarchs and billionaires, not middle class Americans.  And liberals are well rewarded by their corporate oligarch masters for such support.

Liberals have abandoned the Bill of Rights.  They support the invasion of everyone’s privacy by the NSA.   They have not protected free speech and the right to privacy.  They insist as long as a person has nothing to hide then the right to privacy is not relevant; anyone who has something to hide is a criminal anyway.   In fact, liberals now jail brave citizens who have risked their own safety and freedom to inform Americans of the crimes of their own government.  These are the whistleblowers, people who risk their security for the betterment of everyone else.   In return they have been convicted and sentenced to long jail terms for crimes against the imperial state.   The list of jailed whistleblowers is too long to write down here.

Liberals no longer respect the rights of people of all races, creeds, colors and religious backgrounds.  Witness what is happening in South Dakota.  While the local police are robbing the Native Americans of their land, granted in the treaty of 1851, the liberal-in-chief does nothing.  And the future wannabe liberal-in-chief (aka Hillary) has not mentioned one single word about the plight of these Native Americans. They fight for their rights all alone.  In the 1960’s this would have been unconscionable for liberals.  In the old days liberals joined the protests, got on buses, travelled to the South to support African American civil rights.  Today when police shoot Native Americans on their own land liberals do not even bat an eye or raise their hand in protest.

Liberals have presided over a great shift from community policing to a fully militarized police force.  George Orwell’s Animal Farm could not have described better what the liberals have done.  They are the piggies in Animal Farm.

By voting alongside Republicans for the Patriot Act almost unanimously liberals have completely accepted the overturning of habeas corpus, originally earned by brave Englishmen in the year 1215 and adopted in the US as a part of the common laws that had been in place in Britain for centuries.  Habeas corpus is the fundamental cornerstone of any democratic or self-governing nation.  Most people today do not even know what it means.  So-called liberals voted 100 to 1 against habeas corpus.

Liberals are also a very violent bunch.  As noted above, Obama started more wars than any US President in history.  As Secretary of State Clinton took a morbid delight in the torture and murder of Ghaddafi even though he had created the most prosperous and egalitarian nation in African sharing all the oil wealth with the citizenry;  building schools , hospitals, roads and providing government subsidies to young people getting married and going to school, among other progressive economic policies.  In the most bloodthirsty and brutal display of any leader of a major nation since Germany in WWII, Hillary bragged, “We came, we saw, he died.”  This was followed by her gleeful laughter.  The type of enjoyment she relishes in the death of another human being is sick beyond measure.  She is a madwomen.  She is also the leader of the liberals.  All liberals must take full responsibility for her bloodthirsty actions.

Liberals no longer fight for women’s rights.  Just like the rights of Native Americans liberals have no commitment at all to support women’s rights.  For example, both Obama and Clinton (Bill and Hillary) are very cozy with Saudi Arabia where women are property and are stoned to death as punishment for being raped.  So why are women voting for Hillary in such high numbers?  Look up the term ‘cognitive dissonance’ and you will know why.  Liberals will toss anyone under the bus if it suits their financial gains.

Liberals no longer support the free and objective independent media.  Reporters covering the South Dakota protests have been arrested and threatened with decades of imprisonment for exercising their rights to a free press while the liberal administration of Obama does nothing.

Finally, we always used to be able to count on liberals to clamor for action to save the planet and environment.  This year’s election did not include one iota of support for cleaning up the environment and stopping global warming.  After eight years of a liberal Obama administration the environment is worse than it ever has been and no laws have been implemented or even introduced by any liberal to address pollution and climate change.  What a disgrace.

Today to be liberal means to embrace all the far right wing neoconservative oligarchic policies which destroy not only our nation but the entire planet.  Liberals have no backbone as it turns out, to stand up against the criminal shadow oligarch government.  Instead they prefer to profit therefrom.  And though my politics and position have not changed one iota, I find myself in an extremely small minority of what are now thought to be far leftists.  That’s ok… who the hell would want to be a bloodthirsty, war-mongering, anti-free speech, anti-middle class, anti-environmental, pro-corporate, violent and criminal liberal anyway?  Not me.

Election 2016: On Empire and Feminism by Cindy Sheehan

www.fredaart.com

So we are on the eve of the 11th "Most Important Election of Our Lifetimes" (MIEoOL) since I was first eligible to vote in 1976.

This MIEoOL has me constantly shaking my head over the depths of corruption, scandal and abject mediocrity that both of the major candidates have sunken to. The "crap of the crop" has certainly risen to the top in POTUS2016 and I couldn't be more ashamed to live in a country of 320 million that couldn't find anyone with more on the ball than Woman (D) and Man (R).

Now, Clinton's supporters would argue that she has a lot of experience and should be the one with her twitchy finger on the button of nuclear annihilation. Her "experience" is precisely my problem with her: She has risen to the top of a white male supremacist/capitalist nation by drenching herself in the blood of empire and the oppressive greed of Wall Street. Like being accused of being "racist" for not supporting Obama, the new smear is that one is a "sexist" for not supporting Clinton. Is it really possible for someone like Clinton to be a feminist if she has no problem killing women and children in war? A liberal feminist...maybe...a liberation/radical feminist? Not even close!

Then, Trump supporters would argue that he is just a "regular" guy that loves America and will make her "great again." Clinton and her minions will retort, "America has always been great," and I say: "A state built on genocide and slavery that continues those policies hundreds of years later has NEVER been great." Some of us on the left see Trump's campaign as being neo-Fascist and are fear-mongering about Trump being too close to the mechanism of nuclear destruction; I see Trump as the perfect foil and guarantor of a Clinton victory. Like the late comedian George Carlin said, "It's a big club, and we ain't in it."

This is not an essay to convince anyone of what member of the Twin Parties of War and Wall Street to vote for on Nov. 8th, but to be real about our "choices."

Especially in the arena of POTUS politics, the voters don't pick the candidates or the eventual winner: the establishment and billions of dollars do. In the end if you choose D or R, you are choosing to continue and participate in the vehicle of your own oppression and the subjugation and slaughter of billions of more people around the planet.

Bottom-line: Trump wants to deport Muslims, Clinton is happy to kill them; slimy Game Show Host vs. War Criminal. Wow! In the words of the DNC in Philly, "USA!USA!USA!USA!" We're number one in war and crappy elections.

No matter who "wins" on Tuesday night, the main thing to remember is that 99% of us are going to be Big Losers and the only way to for the people to win is to organize on a massive scale to oppose the policies of US empire and to join with the rest of the world in liberation struggles for freedom and equality.

The Fix is In by Anthony Freda

"We hang petty criminals and appoint the great ones to high office."
Aesop

Sometimes there is no justice.

Sometimes the brave whistleblowers risking their lives to reveal the crimes of the ruling elite rot in prison cells while the true criminals become even more powerful.

Sometimes the justice system is really the just-us system. Many people are currently imprisoned for doing far less than Hillary has done.

The FBI apparently staged this new "investigation" into her crimes to give the appearance that they have integrity, silence their critics and turn Hillary into a victim.

The fact that they exonerated her two days before the election is no coincidence.

She is guilty of war crimes, treason, pay-for-play schemes, money laundering and perjury, no matter what lies you hear to the contrary.

Chelsea Manning exposed classified evidence of crimes and her life is ruined because of it.

It is illegal to classify evidence of crimes in the first place, so the people who classified that material are the true criminals.

Manning, Snowden and Assange are heroes and Hillary wants them all dead or in jail, because they are literally exposing HER CRIMES.

Voting for a corrupt war criminal is not simply an endorsement of her crimes.

Voting for Her makes you an accomplice to her crimes.

Ways to Help the Water Protectors at Standing Rock

Cindy Sheehan on bank of Cannonball River at Sacred Stone Camp, ND (Sept. 2016)

Here's how you can help the Lakota people and other Native Americans who are preparing for the very cold North Dakota winter as they protest the Dakota Access Pipeline and try to protect their drinking water sources, sacred burial sites, and their land in general:

Make a donation directly to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe
These donations help the Tribe with legal, sanitary, and emergency supplies on the reservation. The tribe is taking payments either via PayPal or checks made out and mailed to:

Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Attention: Donations
PO Box D
Building #1
North Standing Rock Avenue
Fort Yates, ND 58538

Donate clothing or food to the Sacred Stone protest campsite

You can help with supplies via this this Amazon wish list, this GoFundMe page, cash or checks to the following addresses for the Sacred Stone campsite where protesters are gathered:
Sacred Stone Camp P.O. Box 1011, Fort Yates, ND 58538
or

The protest camp’s most pressing needs are firewood, tipis and tipi materials, a pick-up truck with four-wheel drive, trailers and campers for shelter, snow tires, gift cards for Lowes or Menards to purchase these supplies, wall tents with wood stoves and poles, and sleeping bags for sub-zero temperatures. A full list of supplies needed can be found here.

Donate to the Standing Rock Sioux’s legal fund, which they’re using to challenge the project in court

A few weeks ago, the Standing Rock Sioux lost a bid in federal court to halt work on the pipeline because they said the Army Corps. of Engineers granted development permits to Energy Transfer Partners without thorough tests and consultation. They have said they will appeal the judgment. You can donate to the fund at this GoFundMe page, which has reached $1.2 million of its $1.5 million goal.

Check in on Facebook

This might seem like an inconsequential act, but checking in to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation on Facebook is a show of solidarity and draws attention to this conflict, though it’s unclear whether mass check-ins disrupt an alleged police strategy to target activists through their Facebook locations.

Send Energy Transfer Partners a message

The company that’s building the Dakota Access Pipe Line, Energy Transfer Partners, is based in Texas. Reaching out to the company directly is another way of expressing concern over their $3.7 billion plans. You can reach their corporate headquarters at 214-981-0700
or
8111 Westchester Drive
Dallas, TX 75225

Get in touch with the office of North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple
Dalrymple has been mostly silent on the pipeline and the protests over the past few months, except that he called in the National Guard to deal with protesters and expressed his support for police arresting more than 140 protesters at one protest site last week.

Dalrymple’s office can be reached at 701-328-2200
or
600 East Boulevard Avenue
Bismarck, ND 58505-0100

Sign this petition to get the White House involved

This petition already has more than 347,000 signatures–well above the 100,000 it needed in order to require a response from the White House. But it’s still open and a good way to show the federal government how many people have concerns about the pipeline.
According to the company, the DAPL is scheduled to be finished by the end of the year, although it’s the subject of two lawsuits and a partial halt-work order from the federal Department of Justice, at least until the Army Corps. of Engineers re-evaluates public land near Lake Oahe. Until then, the fight is far from over.

Truth Trumps Proganada by Anthony Freda

Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed: ... everything else is public relations."
― George Orwell.

Good political art punches up and fearlessly exposes the sins of the criminal elite even at the risk of retribution against the artist.

Re-enforcing official party narratives is what propagandists do. Challenging them is what political art is supposed to do.

When you create art that glorifies a corrupt establishment politician, you are no different than the artists employed by fascists and dictators in the 20th century.
You become a tool of the state speaking lies for the powerful, instead of speaking truth to power.

Shepard Fairey, the artist who created the iconic fascist-inspired Hope poster for Obama has expressed regrets about the illustration because Obama has not lived up to his campaign promises. Exactly why you don't do it.

I am seeing a disturbing trend in political art coming from purportedly progressive artists. There are beautiful visual hagiographies of Obama and Hillary being churned out by some of the best illustrators working today.

Some of these works are even more obsequious than the legendary "Hope" image. I know these artists mean well and see themselves as champions of just and righteous leaders.

They are falling into propaganda. When we do so, we become complicit in the crimes of the establishment.

This portrait of a glowing Hillary brings to mind the smiling Chairman Mao pictures painted by slaves of the Chinese Communist Party. Is this an endorsement of her legacy of failed wars, chaos, and corruption?

There is not a hint of irony or balance to the piece. It is an advertisement for the queen of the oligarchy. The tagline "Love trumps hate" is a campaign talking point the artist has regurgitated on to his illustration. The line is as vapid and hollow as the eyes of his subject in the piece.

Love of what? War? Tyranny? Money? Power? This woman promoted the lies that took us to war in Iraq, stole the nomination from Sanders and Wikileaks is exposing her as corrupt and disdainful of the public.

Ward Sutton has created an outstanding body of work in his career as a political cartoonist. He is a talented artist who has valiantly chronicled the evil exploits of the Republican crime syndicate and I applaud him for his efforts.

This is not an attack on Ward. I like Ward. This is not me perched on my high-horse judging other artists. My works are nothing but filthy rags, but those rags will never be used in the service of war criminals.

I can only "hope" this is not the kind of "hard-hitting" political art we can expect to see in the age of Hillary.

The mainstream media has abandoned any pretense of decency and objective reportage. They work to promote the interests of their corporate sponsors and are infested with political operatives posing as journalists.

Artists and alternative media are our last line of defense against an onslaught of officially sanctioned dis-information.

Presidents have the bully pulpit and a compliant media to promote their narratives.

It is incumbent on artists to investigate and question the validity and morality of their positions, not act as amplifiers.

Come on, people!!!!

Killary vs. the World by Anthony Freda

Watching the mainstream media working with the Clinton campaign to promote her discredited talking points and her mendacious "Fact checks" is watching the end of the fourth estate, and the end of a free republic.

Hillary and a complicit media have run the dirtiest campaign in modern history, but that is not the worst of their crimes.

They have successfully launched the broken coalition strategy and by releasing tawdry sex tapes they are attempting to neutralize attacks against them in that category.

A classic Machiavellian move is to charge your opponent with the very crimes you are guilty of.

It is a known fact that Bill Clinton is a violent, serial rapist and that Hillary threatens his victims and that she laughed about preventing a child rapist from receiving justice.

Disgraceful and repulsive, yes, but ultimately trivial in the big picture. The true crimes of Clinton include lying us into the Iraq War and spearheading the destruction of Libya, a murderous disaster.

Her policies have lead to the slaughter and displacement of millions, the empowerment of ISIS and the installation of a Sharia regime in Libya. Why do her supporters forgive her crimes against humanity?

Even if you believe the excuse that she made a mistake, why would you vote for someone who makes blunders so enormous they result in global mayhem and wholesale murder?

The psychopaths who currently run the world are preparing nuclear armageddon and our pathetic media is obsessing over meaningless sex scandals.

They are failing humanity once again. The sex distractions are only relevant because they reveal how sick our society is and how deviant our "leaders" are.

The country is hypocritically and selectively "shaken to its core" by sexual vulgarity, but does not care about war crimes or the unparalleled level of Clinton's corruption.

Wikileaks is exposing in hacked emails on a daily basis the disdain Hillary holds for her supporters and the truth.

They are revealing the disgusting details of the Clintonian pay-for-play model of statesmanship, and their collusion with the mainstream media to destroy Bernie Sanders and deceive the public.

But you won't hear stories about the fact that Bill Clinton got a million dollar birthday present from Qatar to grease the way for shady business deals in Haiti on the corporate news.

You won't hear about the backroom deals Hillary made with Goldman Sachs in exchange for millions of dollars in "speaking fees" either.

You will hear every vulgar detail of Gropegate, however.

The mainstream media cannot tell you the truth because they would be forced to expose their own collusion with the Clintons if they reported the Wikileaks bombshells.

The danger of having a media that is not working to reveal the crimes of a presidential candidate, but working to protect them is obvious.

They helped her promote the lies that took us to Iraq and ruined Libya and they continue to obfuscate her sins with lies of omission.

What will prevent them from helping her achieve her stated goal of war with Syria, which most military analysts say means nuclear war with Russia?

You know, World War 3? Hillary has vowed to destroy alternative right media in a flagrant contempt for freedom of speech.

Will she attempt to purge the alt-left media as well?

The Clinton machine has been effectively executing a coup at Fox aimed at replacing any critics with groveling propagandists.

Who will her followers and fawning media blame for all the ills of the world once their whipping boy Trump is gone?

Putin and Assad seem to be the new boogiemen. The problem is that they cannot be wiped away with smear campaigns and weaponized media. Their removal will require actual nuclear weapons.

The mainstream media has proven they will cheerlead her efforts to bring us to war and defend her crimes. They promote her "public" stance and bury her "private" stance.

Once she has succeeded in destroying all opposing media, it will be nearly impossible to hold her accountable for her crimes and to challenge her lies.
